INTROducing....Rob Goodkind of Good Kind of Food.

Oh Hey! How are you??

Oh Hello! Im good, ta very much!

Give us 3 words that describe you best:

Ambitious, loyal, open minded.. I know its 4 words….

So, can you tell us what it is you actually do?

I am a real life Willy Wonka!  We make luxury, completely hand crafted sweets that are free from additives, colourings and preservatives, and then dip them in Belgian chocolate!

...and you're how old?!?!

The ripe old age of 24…

Nice! How did you get into this?

Well, it all started with me deciding I wanted to try my hand at being a chef when I had just turned 17.  After 5-6 years of working in various kitchens of different qualities all over the London, I decided that if I was going to be working up to 110 hour working weeks, then I was going to do it for myself, as I was sick of working for bad bosses!

What’s the most exciting thing you've done in your career so far?

Good question!  Wait you mean apart from setting up my own company??  I would have to say that cooking in a Michelin starred kitchen was one of the most exciting things I have ever been involved with, tough work but very exciting!

What’s been your dullest job?

The first 6 months of being a commis chef (kitchen bitch).  You are at EVERYONES beck and call, so look forward to peeling and finely dicing 50kg of onions, followed by 25kg of potatoes, followed by cleaning 20kgs of fresh mussels…. And the list continues!!

Where do you look/go for inspiration?

As a chef I think you are taught to constantly look at food with a view to improving it, which can make eating out a pain in the arse, but for me know is quite useful, as I can pretty much be walking anywhere and get ideas of the next sweet thing.  Although I really enjoy any type of food market for interesting fusion ideas!

What took the most balls?

Leaving full time employment to start Good Kind of Food.  Although it was very easy for me to do in the short run, the idea of not having a stable income being paid to me by someone “above me” was quite daunting… there was a sudden realisation about 6 months in that “oh shit, I’m the boss now!)

The best advice you have for new graduates about to go into the 'real world’ is....

Don’t be too picky firstly! Specially at the moment, a job is money in the bank!  If there is a company you want to work for, however the position you want isn’t available, so what! Take any job they offer you (within reason), as its much easier to move around inside a company than to wait for the perfect job for you!

INTROducing..... Katie Burnetts: Journalist & Comedian.

Oh Hey! How are you??
Fine thanks! You?

Give us 3 words that describe you best:

small, kind and hungry

So, can you tell us what it is you actually do?

I’m a showbiz and lifestyle journalist and fit about with female trio 'Vinegar Knickers' too

...and you're how old?!?!

27

Nice! How did you get into this?

Hard work, thick skin, a sense of humour and lots of words

What’s the most exciting thing you've done in your career so far?

I was a bit rude to Charlie Brooker about Konnie... that was quite exciting. Colombia fashion week was quite fun too because I’d never been to S. America before.

What’s been your dullest job?

you’re the last people I’d tell that

Where do you look/go for inspiration?

Friends who make me laugh and my brother. Though I don’t get to spend enough time with either.

What took the most balls?

Quite a lot of the stuff you have to do in journalism requires balls. You can’t be shy when asking questions, otherwise you’ll never get answers.

The best advice you have for new graduates about to go into the 'real world’ is....

People are negative, but you shouldn’t be. If you think you’re trying hard, don’t waste time congratulating yourself. Try harder. Have a sense of humour, because it makes life a lot more enjoyable.

INTROducing... Moxham.

Oh Hey! How are you??

Very well thank you – catching up on emails, enjoying the sun that is streaming in through the window and planning the day ahead.

Give us 3 words that describe you best:

Obsessed with shoes.

So, can you tell us what it is you actually do?

In September of last year I started my own jewellery and accessories business called MOXHAM. I am currently launching S/S…

...and you're how old?!?!

26

Nice! How did you get into this?

I studied and worked in fashion design, then did a year working for a branding agency and then finally decided to do an MA. I used the MA to shape the product and identity of the brand so I would be ready to launch once I graduated.

What’s the most exciting thing you've done in your career so far?

Many things – it was an exciting time when MOXHAM began to take shape in terms of its logo, branding etc but seeing friends/ strangers wearing the pieces and having such a presence at LFW on some great girls was exciting.

What’s been your dullest job?

There have been a few, nothing horrendous, but just a little mind numbing.

Where do you look/go for inspiration?

Ideally on a weekend away… in actuality I trawl through my parents book collection and spend a day visiting museums and art galleries. I am desperate to go to Copenhagen- it is just finding the time!

What took the most balls?

Deciding and then telling people that I was going to start my own business – if it doesn’t work out it’s only me toblame. Luckily, things are going from strength to strength..

The best advice you have for new graduates about to go into the 'real world’ is....

Be philosophical and enthusiastic – good days will be followed by bad days and that is just life.
